Carolina Hererra Pre-Fall 2013 Ad Campaign

December 11, 2012 NEW YORK
Last Christmas, Carolina Herrera’s husband, Reinaldo, designed an exquisite compact for his wife decorated with a day design on one side and a starry night on the other. Made by Verdura, the piece served as a starting point for Herrera’s pre-fall collection. “I was so fascinated by night and day, I decided I wanted to have this [idea] in my collection,” she said. The result was an abundance of celestial motifs, from golden stars embroidered on a lovely navy gown to tarot card images on colorful dresses.

Herrera’s day looks, meanwhile, featured charming cocktail dresses, including one with a stem flower jacquard, and suits in a magnified houndstooth pattern that almost looked digital.

With celestial motifs as her starting point, Carolina Herrera offered up a pre-fall 2013 collection loaded with dark, rich colors to evoke the night sky, beautiful florals and prints in unusual colors and even some bold houndstooths. The result is luxurious, feminine, and very, very pretty.

Go ahead, ladies. Do a little fantasy shopping. And if you don’t have anyplace to wear these clothes, well, that’s what fantasy’s for, right?
