Céline Fall-Winter 2013-2014 RTW Fashion Show

Mood/style:
a stellar collection for Céline where Phoebe Philo rounds rectangles and softens the edges, mellows the cuts and gives more breathing space to the collection which appears freer, more sensuous and fluid.

Without affecting her signature clean designs, she gives her more than remarkable talent free rein to express its rigorous softness – the stylistic oxymoron that forms the core of her collection. Tightly edited, coherent in the way it shifts from look to look, clear in its stylistic intent and devoid of any intellectualism and self-celebration inclination: all seems to point at a mature vision, a happy sketching hand and the rare ability to foresee and give birth to a femininity that is simultaneously modern and timeless

Lengths:
below the knee

Colors:
ivory, egg white, powder pink, navy blue, milk, pearly grey, black

Materials:
washed double cashmere, wool/silk, mohair, nappa leather, shearling and knit, mink

Shapes:
coats feature a new rounder and snug shape with stand-away statement collars framing the face and single or double breasted fastening offered in rich fabrics such as washed double cashmere that adds shirring to the texture. Skirts come either in a godet version or a slinky mermaid silhouette that wraps around the hips and then opens up corolla-shaped creating a waving movement. Tops are rectangular or enclosed by rigid stoles. Wide A-lined overcoats are transformed in vests by way of sleeves that can be tied at the front. Light coats, skirts and tunics are in a multicolor plaid fabric that recalls the big bags used in Middle Eastern markets

Accessories:
booties with high straight heel and round toe, skin-tight high boots in stretch nappa leather. Soft envelope-shaped clutches with wrist band in contrasting color
