Chado Ralph Rucci Fall-Winter 2013-2014 RTW Fashion Show

Mood/style:
In his program, Ralph Rucci noted that he was “very proud” that every garment was made in New York City by his longtime team. The love of artisanal detail and material certainly showed. Color first: the palette was black or intense.

Coats and chubby jackets were made up in chrome, pink and blinding white mink. Violet was a favored color jolt, used for a silk raincoat, a cashmere coat with leather applique, a crepe suit. Brilliant reflective color—paillette-covered tunics—were paired with loose pants. Dresses in simple shapes rocked with detail, including a leather number that was completely embroidered. Coats were wide with sculpted shaped sleeves. Evening dresses played with transparency, lace, peek-a-boo details. The tour de force: a sable coat constructed with links of taffeta. No wonder Lady Gaga is rumored to have an interest in Rucci’s work
